Katy Watts, outstanding in her field.

FOUNDER

As the owner of Rocky Mtn Research & Consulting, Inc., Katy was engaged in pesticide efficacy and residue studies, as well as consulting with farmers growing potatoes and grain. When her horses got laminitis, she switched her focus to sugar content of grass. She has published her findings in scientific journals, book chapters and conference proceedings.

Kelcie

FOUNDERed

I wish everyone could have a horse as good as she was. We learned so much together. She jumped, did low level dressage, pulled a cart, packed beginners around and was a perfect trail horse. Here she is cantering in the paddock 10 years after several vets told me to put her down. Her PPID and laminitis was well controlled at age 25 when her spirit was set free from her arthritic body.

Guinness Kaliber

foundered

Daughter of Kelcie in body, but not by character. She was always challenging, therefore she shaped my resolve more than anything else in my life. The Lord wouldn’t take her and the devil didn’t want the competition, so I had to keep her on this earth as long as possible. Her form of EMS was genetic in origin, atypical, and she was an extremely difficult case to manage. Her insulin levels were extremely high even when she was sound, on a very low NSC diet and in regular work. She got laminitis every winter, apparently as a direct effect of cold temperatures. I hope within my lifetime researchers can explain why.
